Want a Show With That Ad? From game show giveaways to celebrity hosts sipping branded sodas, reality TV is chockablock with product placements. NBC's 'The Biggest Loser' is currently the biggest pusher, serving up a super-sized 3,977 product placements in the first quarter of 2008. Fox's 'American Idol' is second, with 3,291, followed by NBC's 'The Celebrity Apprentice,' at 1,646. But scripted dramas and comedies are far from exempt: CW's 'One Tree Hill' is the first scripted show to appear in the recent 'TV Guide' rundown; it contained 557 placements.
