Alice Cooper Along Came a Spider
After committing cannibalistic murders (see below), Spider worries that he wasted his life and is destined for hell, but finds "Salvation" in Jesus Christ.

The other 10 tracks on this CD (which feels like a Silence of the Lambs-style audio drama) describe in grotesque detail how Spider stalks, kills and eats his victims. "Prologue/I Know Where You Live" talks of invading a girl's home, smelling her "things" and even killing a couple of would-be suitors. Spider lustfully eyes a female target on "(In Touch With) Your Feminine Side," and on "Wrapped in Silk" imagines what a woman was thinking as her life ebbed away ("Where could you feel the knife?/Was it your final thought the moment I took your life?"). He boasts of dismembering people, then taunts authorities on "Catch Me If You Can." "I'm Hungry" shifts from kidnapping to bondage to cannibalism, while "The One That Got Away" ponders disposing of a corpse. "Vengeance Is Mine" says "to forgive is divine," but Spider prefers retribution. After his "Salvation," this psycho retreats back into a Norman Bates-ish split personality on the unrepentant "I Am the Spider/Epilogue."

Professing Christian Vincent Furnier plays Alice Cooper in the role of Spider, the diseased alter ego of a schizophrenic prisoner named Steven. A tangled web. The point of all this? It's hard to say, but for some of his fans the sadism will be its own reward—like a Saw movie.
