Fergie The Dutchess
"Clumsy" finds Fergie "trippin', stumblin', flippin', fumblin'" after being struck by Cupid's arrow. A guy loves her for more than her outward appearance on "All That I Got (The Make Up Song)." "Finally" reflects on lessons learned the hard way and decides that life is good. Drugs are exposed as a seductive evil ("Voodoo Doll"), and fame doesn't give the artist amnesia about where she came from ("Glamorous"). Unfortunately ...

The only thing worse than the materialism on "Glamorous" is its frequent profanity. The album version of the sanitized radio hit "London Bridge" uses the f-word, repeats "oh s---" dozens of times, condones drunkenness and includes sexual innuendo. "Fergalicious" is a narcissistic tease that uses food metaphors to describe how tasty the singer is. Elsewhere, lyrics invite a man to share her bed ("Velvet") and refer to "people talking out their a--" ("Pedestal"). A couple seems to be eking one last round of sex out of a crumbling romance on "Big Girls Don't Cry." CD pictures range from bare midriffs to flirtatious soft-porn.

Stacy "Fergie" Ferguson made her mark as a member of the Black Eyed Peas. The Dutchess, her first solo effort, has a few thoughtful tunes, but the majority reveal a self-impressed sex kitten with a randy vocabulary.
