Celine Dion The Colour of My Love
From Mag to Web
Like many of her songs, the poetic title track paints a picture of "devoted love until we die." "When I Fall in Love" wholeheartedly reserves that deepest emotion for one special person. On "Real Emotion," she tells her man to spare the material gifts in favor of "something from the heart."

The number-1 pop hit "The Power of Love" appears to relate a first-time sexual encounter ruled by the passion of the moment. A girl rejects the wisdom of her parents on "Everybody's Talkin' My Baby Down." "Love Doesn't Ask Why" jettisons absolute values when making moral decisions ("Don't ask me if this feelin's right or wrong . . . there's no plan, it's not in our hands").

Great music and powerful vocals, but Colour lacks lyrical consistency. Not explicit, but disappointing nonetheless. Falling Into You and Let's Talk About Love are better picks.
