Several tracks imply that life is dark and depressing ("Daylight Fading," "Have You Seen Me Lately" and the title cut). The artist cries, "I will wrap myself in pain" on "Goodnight Elisabeth." A few harsh profanities-including the f-word-punctuate these lyrics. Album art includes a pencil sketch of a man extending his middle finger. The self-destructive woman described on "Another Horsedreamer's Blues" seeks a cure for loneliness in pills and gambling.
A gloomy undercurrent runs through this project. Not much explicit trouble, but negativity suffocates the disc's very few bright spots. Don't let Satellites transmit into your home. The CCM band Satellite Soul is a solid Christian alternative for fans of this musical style.
